Isa S. Chu (she/her) is a vocalist, actor, and voice and performance coach based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her journey through music and performance has always been a way to share art, foster understanding, and create meaningful connections.
A proud choir nerd, Isa has sung in school and church choirs since elementary school. Since 2005, she has performed with the renowned Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir and for several seasons with the Oakland Symphony Chorus.
After a 20-year hiatus from theater since graduating UCSB, Isa is rediscovering her passion for the stage, diving back in—acting, coaching, and even reviewing local theater for theatrius.com—embracing the joy and growth that theater brings.
Born in Hong Kong and raised in Oakland, Isa’s artistic influences span Cantonese pop, 50’s rock and roll, 90’s hip hop and R&B music, Rodgers and Hammerstein TV musicals, and the magic of Sesame Street puppetry.
Beyond the spotlight, Isa is a passionate community builder with a knack for turning creative ideas into meaningful experiences. She loves bringing people together to create spaces brimming with inspiration and possibility. When Isa isn’t belting out tunes or crafting projects, you’ll find her geeking out over cake-decorating videos, houseplants, or furniture-flipping DIYs on YouTube.
